Stop Asian Hate

I’ve been struggling to find the right words to say. Seeing and hearing the accumulation of attacks, especially the last couple of weeks has been heartbreaking. All my life, I’ve heard racist remarks + experienced it firsthand on a few occasions, but always brushed it off, laughed along to avoid conflict, and just move on from it. I didn’t realize what an impact it can have when people act further on biased notions. It’s made me worried for my parents, for my family, friends, myself, and my daughter. 

It took 8 precious lives to catapult the awareness of the increased asian attacks since the start of COVID, yet this has been happening much longer than that AND still occurring. I no longer want to take public transportation nor feel completely safe in my own city, my home town. 

I pray for a better future with change, tolerance, and harmony – for all of us, for our future generations to come. I hope our children NEVER experience this hate. Thank you to those that reached out- I see you + so grateful for you, thank you to those that voiced your support to stand with us.

Last week, I was invited to a tension relieving and anti-aging facial massage class. Who knew I’d need it more than ever – especially hearing all of the heartbreaking and tragic news lately.

The class was hosted by Isabel Lazo herself, and was able to receive a bottle of Iso Lazo facial oil to follow along. 3D PR sent over Harney & Sons ginger tea for further relaxation.

Happy International Women’s Day!

In honor of that & to highlight the most important woman in my life, I decided to give my mom a hair color makeover in collaboration with Madison Reed. While you all know I’m loyal to @ellekinney + @gemhousesalon, my mom normally dyes her hair from the box.

Madison Reed (@madisonreedllb) offers a hair quiz to decide the best shade of color to perfectly match. (There’s over 55 shades available!) The Radiant Color Kit is free of ammonia, parabens, gluten, titanium duoxide, SLS, PPD, and resorcincol.

The box came with everything needed- color activator, gloves, hair barrier cream, shampoo, and conditioner. So easy to do + was able to cover up all of her grays seamlessly.

The iconic Powell’s Books has been around since 1971 & was one of the first bookstores to place used and new, hardcover & paperback, all on the same shelf + open 365 days a year.

I have not yet visited myself but intrigued to find out they created their own scent! 📕 It’s a unisex fragrance with notes of wood and violet – the bookstore’s signature. It’s cozy to use on yourself but also perfect for a room spray to set the stage for a relaxed environment to read. 📚

Recently received more Inika goodies to try, and I was highly intrigued with the Camellia Oil Cleanser and the Maca Root Day Cream. The Cleanser opens up to a brush and there’s a dial where you can turn it “on” to squeeze out some of the cleanser, then turn it “off” to lock it. Using the brush itself, you can massage and clean your face directly and just rinse after for the next use — super handy for a lazy girl like myself and I love how it was an all-in-one tool. The silicone brush was soft enough to massage but firm enough to move the cleanser around. It removes daily impurities and traces of makeup without drying, and my skin felt great after use!

Hand sanitizers usually reek like rubbing alcohol or have a clinical scent. I typically use Touchland since I prefer the mist/sprays vs. the gels.
